Our Company Director
Our Director Ben, has had over 10 years' experience within the Health and Social Care sector, working within many settings from Care & Nursing homes to Supported Living. It was when Ben found Domiciliary Care that he found a true passion for people remaining in their own homes. Whilst working within a number of Staffordshire's home care agencies, Ben's desire for change and improvement grew.
Ben went onto study and complete a qualification in Leadership and Management of Health and Social Care, helping to further develop his knowledge and skills needed as a Registered Manager and a provider of social care services.
Ben is passionate and driven to ensure that care and support services at home are of the highest standard possible.
I have always had a natural passion for helping and caring, was how I found myself during school volunteering to support the elderly, then work experience in a Care Home. I enjoyed making a difference to someone's life.
Unfortunately, Care has a very bad reputation as seen in the media, services are constantly criticised for the low paid wages, poor training of staff, decline in standards and high staff turnover resulting in poor continuity of care. I wanted to drive change.
From past experiences, I have been astounded by the number of service providers out there offering similar ‘care and support services’. I tried to drive change within organisations, share ideas, improve practice. However, when working within someone else’s organisation there is a limit as to the changes that can be made and there are restrictions on the development of further services which I believe individuals could benefit from.
By listening to service users and staff of the sector, It is now my aim with Affexa Care Services to attempt to address these issues, and maintain a person-centred attitude and belief to restore some positivity of such an essential industry.
